Cake flavor trends for summer 2026: what we are loving this season

Cake trends come and go, but every summer brings a few flavours that suddenly seem to be everywhere. Some disappear as quickly as they arrive (we're looking at you, rainbow unicorn cakes), while others become classics that deserve a permanent place in the bakery. Some are nostalgic, some are completely unexpected, and some somehow become the combination everyone wishes they had tried sooner.

At C+ Bakery, we're always experimenting, but we believe the best cakes start with really good ingredients and flavours that complement each other rather than compete. This season, these are the combinations that are trending in the cake world right now!

Sour Cherry & Dark Chocolate

Sweet, tart and rich all at once. Sour cherries add brightness while dark chocolate keeps everything indulgent. The perfect balance between dessert and fruit.

Pistachio & Raspberry

Pistachio is having a moment (but also.. when is not?). Its buttery, nutty flavour pairs beautifully with fresh raspberries, which we think are the real underdog-ingredient creating a cake that feels both elegant and comforting.

Raspberry cake it’s also a timeless summer flavor on its own and it’s actually always available on our custom cakes.

Lemon & Blueberry

Some flavours simply taste like sunshine. Lemon keeps things fresh while blueberries add sweetness and colour, making this one of our favourite cakes for spring and summer celebrations. On an other note, we always have out lemon + blueberry and lavander (home made syrup) or lemon + strawberry lemonade ready to cool off in the cafe!

Salted Caramel & Peanut butter 

Coffee lovers, this one's for you. The peanut butter flavor cuts through rich caramel for a flavour that's grown-up, comforting and….easy to finish.

Strawberry & Elderflower

Light, floral and delicate without being overly sweet. It tastes like the first warm evening of the year and deserves a place at every garden party.

Chocolate Fudge

Some classics never need reinventing. Rich chocolate sponge with silky chocolate cream remains one of our best sellers for a reason. Sometimes chocolate is exactly what you need.

Vanilla & Raspberry

Proof that simple doesn't mean boring. Fluffy vanilla sponge layered with raspberry filling is timeless, elegant and impossible to dislike.

The best flavour is ultimately the one that makes you happy. Whether you love something classic or you're curious about combinations that feel a little more adventurous, there's always a good excuse for cake.
