The Perfect Picnic in Berlin: Cakes, Coffee & Sunny Days
As soon as the sun comes out, Berlin collectively decides that parks are the only acceptable place to spend the day. It will be 35 degrees thursday so let’s get picnic blankets, speakers and frisbee out!
Best picnic food
Something sweet, something salty, a bottle of Rotkäppchen if you’re feeling locas and a cold drink!
If we were packing the perfect picnic basket from our menu it would probably include:
Fresh focaccia to share.
Pizza Buns.
A Bento Cake for dessert.
A couple of cinnamon buns (because somehow they're always the first thing to disappear).
And, of course, iced coffee or one of our homemade lemonades.
In our Kiez: Tempelhofer Feld
Perfect if you're spending the whole afternoon outside. Plenty of space, sunsets that never disappoint and enough room to accidentally start a volleyball tournament with strangers.
Treptower Park
Ideal if your picnic also involves reading a book, taking a nap or watching boats go by.
Krumme Lanke
If you’re feeling social and want to run into your ex, your ex’s ex and some random people you haven't seen in ages Krumme Lanke is the one to go (but stay on the right side so you get the last sunrays)
Don't forget dessert
Picnics are one of our favourite excuses to order a Bento Cake: it’s small enough to fit in a paper bag (be careful tho!!!), big enough for 4-5 people and so cute its gonna make it to the gram lol
If cake isn't your thing (we won't ask why), our buns are made for eating outdoors with a coffee in one hand and absolutely no plans for the rest of the day.
One last thing...
Berlin summers don't last forever, and the days are already getting shorter: so grab your favourite people, pick up something delicious, find a patch of grass and enjoy the sunshine while it lasts.
We'll take care of the food ;)
