A bento cake is a mini cake that originated in South Korea, and then blowing up in Japan. “Bento” means convenience taking the name from compact one portion meals. The cake usually come in a lunchbox format and small size (4-5 slices to split between 1-4 people) and they became a huge trend as a creative (and instagrammable) way to enjoy even “designer” cakes on a smaller scale.
